In May 2021, I terminated my relationship with corporate America. Prior to May, I spent the majority of my civilian career in recruiting. My diverse experience includes recruiting in the fields of nonprofit, government, landscaping, education, career counseling, employee coordinator, and staffing. I received numerous awards and accolades and was considered a subject matter expert in the field. I helped to recruit and hire over 5,000 people in 7 years.

I could always tell who had someone write their resume for them. It may seem like a great idea but it's not for a number of reasons. For one, no one can tell your story like you can. Another reason is, once you do get in front of the recruiter or hiring manager, we can tell that your personal communication style is different from what's written. This fact opens you up to be questioned on on other parts of the resume. One of the last reasons I'd like to discuss is the financial cost of having someone write your resume. Most resume writers start $150. I'm not ok with that.
